  16. Had a strange dream last night.
  17.  
  18. I was with a bunch of friends in a record store.
  19. While I was debating whether or not to buy a 
  20. 4-volume set of the Best Of Uriah Heep, a couple
  21. of them had discovered a small shack inside a 
  22. warehouse behind the store, and had come in
  23. to get me.
  24.  
  25. ``C'mere!  You gotta check this out!''
  26.  
  27. So I went out back.  Inside the shed they were
  28. futzing around with a smallish, glowing, yellow
  29. sphere.  Though many of my friends (in the dream)
  30. had dabbled in the occult, none of them recognized
  31. it.  But I did.

  33. ``Don't play with that!'' I cried.  ``You're
  34. messing with forces you can't possibly understand!
  35. That's the Discrete Cosine Transform!''

  37. But they didn't listen.

  39. We were all transformed into vampires.

  45.   After that the dream degenerated into a long chase
  46.   sequence with me and one other new vampire running
  47.   away from the Head Vampire, who wanted us to perform
  48.   oral sex on him or something.  I was somewhat relieved
  49.   to discover, upon getting to work this morning, that
  50.   the JPEG compression utilities do *not* have a ``make 
  51.   undead'' feature.  Don't know where that came from.
