  40. Scenario:  unwanted child born into abusive family.  The parents would have
  41. gotten an abortion, but it was "illegal", so they couldn't.

  43. The child now has to suffer because of the cruelty and irresponsibility of
  44. his or her parents.  Does this sound like a *good* thing?

  52. Do you know what they do to kittens and puppies (even adult cats and dogs)
  53. when they have too many of them and can't care for them any more?  They "put
  54. them to sleep".  It used to be that they would put them in a bag and drown
  55. them in a river, but these days the more "humane" technique of lethal injection
  56. is used.

  58. An unborn child is alive.  So is a kitten.  An unborn child can fell pain.
  59. So can a kitten.  An unborn child moves around.  So does a kitten.  Many people
  60. find unborn children to be "cute" (they compare them to babies which are
  61. supposedly "cute").  Many people find kittens to be "cute".

  63. A kitten would requre support for up to 18 years.  A child would require even
  64. more support for the same time.  We don't always have the resources to provide
  65. for all the kittens that could exist.  We don't always have the resources to
  66. provide for all the children that could be born.

  68. No one wants to kill kittens, but sometimes it is necessary because people are
  69. more important.  No one wants to kill unborn children, but sometimes it is
  70. necessary because people are more important.

  72. And why is this ok?  A kitten is not a person . . . and neither is an unborn
  73. child.
