  26. As an ironic point, here is the definition of "catholic" from Funk & Wagnalls
  27. Standard Desk Dictionary (sorry, I don't have Websters):

  32. Notice that most of the aspects of 1 are about the opposite of what one might
  33. think of applying to the Catholic (Roman especially) Church. (ok, half of them)
  34. The Catholic Church (defined as The Roman Catholic Church) is generally narrow-
  35. minded in beliefs and conservative, when compared to other Christian Churches.
  36. (more restrictive than many/most Protestant Churches and "conservative" since
  37. they pride themselves on being based on the "ancient, undivided Christian
  38. church")
