  14. I recently ran across a stunning quote concerning 
  15. the Supreme Court decision Roe v. Wade:

  17.   "... Nor did The Times--or most of the other major media--pay
  18.    much attention to the discovery by Bob Woodward of the 
  19.    Washington Post last year that two justices who had played
  20.    a major role in the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision legalizing
  21.    abortion had conceded, in private memos, that they knew
  22.    they were ``legislating policy and exceeding [the court's]
  23.    authority as the interpreter, not the maker of law,'' as
  24.    Woodward wrote."
