  24. I guess you first have to define what responsibility means to you.
  25. To me it means to live my life in such a way so as to cause as little
  26. grief, pain, duress, discomfort, etc. to other beings as possible.
  27. That's why I'm a bleeding heart, liberal vegetarian AR person.
  28. That also means that I personally am a pro-life person.  It doesn't
  29. mean that I expect everyone to be pro-life - I leave that up to the
  30. individual.  In other words, globally I'm pro-choice - I just personally 
  31. choose to respect fetal rights.

  33. By pro-responsibility I mean that the individual has to decide on which side
  34. of an issue to stand based on who they are.  This means researching
  35. and giving serious thought to an issue - informed decision making vs.
  36. raw reaction.

  38. A vegan friend of mine classes meat-eaters into two groups: uninformed
  39. and evil (the term 'evil' is his - please flame /dev/null if it insults you).
  40. He says the 'uninformed' meat-eaters are those who have not yet realized
  41. that eating meat is bad (i.e. cruel).  He says the 'evil' meat-eaters are
  42. those who know how much pain and suffering that an animal goes through before
  43. ending up on a plate, yet refuse to change their lifestyle.

  45. I use the above example to illustrate what I mean by responsibility -
  46. changing your habits and lifestyle to reflect your true beliefs (no matter
  47. how different they may be from your friends', relatives', etc).
