- Maybe, but I think most people do it because of (a) fear of confrontation
- and (b) a misguided impression that it's less hurtful to just cut off
- contact with the person. (On a recent plane trip from Detroit to Chicago, I
- was talking to a woman who confessed to having done this to someone...
- fortunately he set her straight by telling her that it would have been a
- lot easier on him if she had just told him to get out of her face.)
