- The sad fact is that life is set up to divide people. It's not enough
- that there are racial differences, and differences in physical
- attractiveness, education level, interests, geographic background
- (moving to a new location can have a profound effect on your ability
- to relate to people, and we americans move more often than anybody in
- history), and religion. To top it off, there are several religions
- that actively condemn marriage outside the religion.
-
- I think you have to take a hard look at what you are willing to trade
- for a happy, stable marriage. I think it is ridiculous to dismiss any
- of the above differences out of hand, without at least actively
- reasoning your way to a conclusion for each difference.
-
- As for marrying outside a religion -- I don't see why it is impossible
- to have religiously intermixed marriages. I find it puzzling that so
- many people born jewish end up restricting themselves and marrying
- within their religion. I know several people who reject nearly every
- aspect of the religion, except for the principle that they must marry
- a jewish person. I really would appreciate an explanation for this.
