- I don't find wanting to limit "mating circles" based on ethnic, cultural,
- religious, appearance or whatever to be "archaic." It's a person's choice.
- Especially when one is considering marriage, common culture or
- beliefs may be very important to an individual. Such selectiveness may be
- related to the way the person was brought up, or may be a conscious decision
- after X years of dating people from all walks of life. So, Tim, I don't find
- fair your comments towards Shelley.
-
- On the other hand, I don't find the "I'm surrounded by Christians" comment
- too appropriate -- it borders on carrying prejudiced meaning. Sorry, Shelley.
-
- Jews are perhaps
- 10% of the population overall, more in some cities and less in others.
- Accepting this fact might be difficult for Shelley (especially in Des Moines
- where there seems to be a small Jewish community). Tim's suggestion of going
- to Israel would certainly have the desired effect of potentially more people
- for Shelley to date. However, I'm sure that one of many other LARGER cities,
- even with the same percentage, will increase the pool. Try Seattle. or San
- Francisco, or Atlanta, or Boston, or DC, or...etc.
