  27. And so do men.  Well, someone had to say it.  I'm quite happy to pay
  28. for a date---it makes sense for me to do so, since most of the women I
  29. know are on student grants, and I'm paid a salary---but I'm also happy
  30. to allow them to pay, since the dates we go on are pretty cheap, on
  31. the whole.  In practice, almost all have insisted on paying their
  32. share, and I don't mind that.
