- I operate on the assumption that if we're both walking to my car, I
- unlock the passenger door first, then mine. If my passenger is carrying
- something, I offer to hold it while they get settled and/or hold & close
- the door.

- I also operate on the assumption that if I get to a door first, I hold it
- for my companion(s).

- Both of these behaviours surprise men more often than women. Particularily
- at work (computer software company, most people I know are male).
