  22. There is some dissension about that now. It may be that the Oedipus of legend  
  23. was none other than the Egyptian Pharoah Akhnaton, who was raised by Persians.  
  24. The Persians had an acceptable custom of lusting after one's mother, and this  
  25. may have influenced Akhnaton. The city of Thebes in the legend would not have  
  26. been the Greek city of Thebes but the much more ancient Egyptian city of the  
  27. same name. I know, who in soc.penpals cares :-)
