  24. Two NeXT machines, *and* an Intel (soon to be two) machines,
  25. all networked together nicely.  You would sit here next to
  26. me during one of our posting phases, cheerily writing away,
  27. then we could take time out for amusements of various types,
  28. visits about the metropolis, secret country hideaways (very
  29. exotic in winter), and homes of distinction where we know
  30. the people.  Not to mention our newly remodelled bar complex
  31. (I've not been, but it's reported to be every bit as
  32. deafening as the old one, but with much better smoke
  33. control).  I'm afraid watching me compose posts would be
  34. exceedingly underwhelming, all those lightning flashes in
  35. the eyeballs, etc.  But really beloved, there's no reason to
  36. fiddle with dreary old computers, I do it all with an AI
  37. anyway.  Humans are supposed to be having fun, not sitting
  38. hours at a time in front of the glowing phosphors.  Then
  39. too, there's the locals to divert one; we really do have
  40. quite remarkable exemplars of a certain milk-fed type around
  41. here.

  52. bundled up, safe and secure and warm, and maybe slightly
  53. worn out from all that attention, so we could have a wee nap

  60. daffs are dilled already Out Yonder.  A plague, a torment,
  61. that's what he is.  Ah, we can get snow and ice here up
  62. to the last day of May, although the daffodils, crocuses,
  63. and a few other early bloomers (heh) do manage to be on
  64. view before then.  That's all right, I can see flowers
  65. anywhere; in Babylon I just stand on the corner to see
  66. the 24 Divisideros go by.

  71. Unsure which Bob you mean (there are confusingly many), I'm
  72. sure some accomodations could be worked out.  I'm sure we'd
  73. both have such crowded social calendars as to make the head

  85. Fortunately, it will grow back.  In the meantime, Mara's
  86. advice of a hat seems sensible (but then Mara just about
  87. always is -- sensible, I mean, not a hat).
