- [red with embarassment] I didn't read the article in the
- Austin-American (don't ask) Statesman properly. Austin has had
- ordinances on the books since 1975 prohibiting discrimination, but
- they have obviously been amended over time... the last three
- admendments were to add "sexual orientation, age, HIV status" among
- others. The article did not go in to details.

- That's what Denver's mayor was asking all of them... it IS being a
- hypocrit to support the boycott and yet discriminate in (at least)
- public employment. Hopefully, the folks in the cities which did
- support the boycott and which don't have sexual orientation protection
- themselves can mount an easy effort to get the cities to pass
- protection for public workers (this doesn't usually take a vote by the
- people). It's a start, at least.
