  11. A few weeks ago a new book went on display at a bookstore in
  12. Denver (Category 6).  I purchased a copy, went home, poured a
  13. large glass of wine, found one of the heater cats for my lap,
  14. sat down and started to read.  For the next few hours my 
  15. emotions ran the gamut from extreme rage and anger, to sadness,
  16. to daydreams about people I once new, and back again.  Quite a
  17. few tears as well.

  19. Whenever I stumble into an incredible book, I have this annoying
  20. habit of buying up a dozen or so copies and forcing everyone I
  21. know to read it... :-)

  31.     Last night an ex-boyfriend called from Baton Rouge to chat....
  32.     we chatted about the holidays, gossiped, etc... and somewhere
  33.     in the middle of all this he accidentally slipped and mentioned
  34.     that his Tcell count dropped below 24 last week.  This morning
  35.     I hit the local book stores and bought up another dozen copies
  36.     of the book to send to more people (and to him, since his current
  37.     doctor is so pathetic).

  39.     The book is a very fast read.  In a nutshell
  40.     the book discusses the moral and ethical aspects of drug
  41.     legalization; and how current FDA and Customs policy has
  42.     contributed to the death of thousands of americans.  This book
  43.     ranks up there with "The Band Played On", and "The Mayor of
  44.     Castro Street" and will probably be looked back upon as one
  45.     of the most important books every written about the AIDS crisis.
  46.     It discusses all of the alternative medications on the market,
  47.     and quickly brings you up to speed on which ones work, and which
  48.     ones don't.  And gives you an incredible insight into what ACT-UP
  49.     has been fighting for for all these years.

  53. Ok, Ok, I'll come down off my soapbox now... however if you need
  54. an incredible book to read... please look for this book.  For those
  55. of you living in siberia (sorta like me... I live in Colorado) you
  56. can probably order this through Lambda Rising, or any of those 
  57. incredible big city book stores that I would kill to live next to.
