  24. Being the compleat New Jerseyist :-), let me add that New Jersey's ski
  25. business has picked up considerably here in the last 8 years.  No, the
  26. mountains aren't as huge, there is more man-made snow than elsewhere,
  27. but the facilities are often newer and therefore more modern.

  29. New Jersey has just about everything that is listed in the "Demands"
  30. for the MOW93 (more-so than any other state).  New Jersey law prohibits
  31. discrimination based on sexual-orientation in employment, housing,
  32. loans, and public accomodations.  Lesbigays can adopt without
  33. harassment.  Strong pro-choice leadership in government (including
  34. current Democrat Governor and the previous Republican Governor).  NJ
  35. has a graduated age of consent; "Clinic Care" for those without health
  36. care; a "Hate Crimes" (i.e. anti gay-bashing) law; and all state
  37. troopers have gone through sensitivity training on Lesbigay, Latio, and
  38. African-American issues (i.e. to avoid the "Rodney King Syndrome").
  39. New Jersey's schools have sex education from K-12 which includes
  40. AIDS/HIV education.  New Jersey's domestic violence laws and rape laws
  41. include equal treatment for same-sex couples.

  43. Let me also add that other states that have passed similar
  44. anti-discrimination laws have excellent convention and vacation
  45. possibilities.  In particular Connecticut and (for you skiing fans)
  46. Vermont.  Oregon could also certainly use the support after so many
  47. there went out on a limb to defeat Measure 9.

  49. Not that I have anything against New Mexico (my sister lives there) I
  50. just hope people remember that plenty of other states deserve your
  51. business too!
