  30. You know, Walter, were the shoe on the other foot, you might
  31. well feel rather insulted by such a remark.  Your personal
  32. experiences don't include the data, which is another way of
  33. saying you have no valid reason to suspect the testimony of
  34. me and many others here.  So why are you doing so?  I don't
  35. what "reality" it would take to convince you, but in all
  36. probability the case has been significantly *understated*
  37. here; most of us find the enormous suicide rates of teens
  38. caused by homophobia appallingly painful; most of us know
  39. personally people who have been physically assaulted by
  40. homophobes; virtually all of us know viscerally and
  41. first-hand the ugliness of anti-LGB bigotry in our lives.

  43. Then you come along and say, "oh, I dunno about that," and
  44. enter into practically endless (and pointless) dispute with
  45. us on matters you know nothing about, by your own admission.
  46. Now what reaction do you expect to get from us, Walter, to
  47. what amounts to massive rudeness on your part?

  49. Finally, let us suppose that some airborn 2x4 comes along
  50. and knocks a little sense into your skull at long last;
  51. where would we be then?  What benefit *to us* would there be
  52. from that?  For if there were none, then you can gaddamned
  53. well take your sorry fucking ass right out of here and right
  54. quick before the troops turn mean.  I believe it's well
  55. past the time when they should have done so.  As Bob Donahue
  56. quite calmly remarked, it's put-up or shut-up time, buddy.
