  13. Gather round, children, I need some help.

  15. I'm writing a document specifying the design
  16. and architecture rules for all new applications
  17. at Citicorp (and me, a boy from the suburbs - imagine!)
  18. and I'm having a problem with capitalization.
  19.  
  20. I refer to certain documents - the Business Requirements
  21. Specification is one of them - by one of:
  22. the name: The Business Requirements Specification
  23. the initials: The BRS
  24. the short name: The specification
  25.  
  26. It's the last one that has me stumped.  There are no
  27. other specifications (so no ambiguity) but it somehow
  28. doesn't seem right to have the short name as lower case.
  29.  
  30. The same problem exists for Service Subsystem - "the
  31. subsystem" or "the Subsystem"?  Business Model - "the
  32. model" or "the Model"?
  33.  
  34. The closest example I can find is "Take 12th Street -
  35. the street after 11th" which makes me think I'm doing
  36. the right thing.
