- CONGRESSIONAL SUPPORT FOR GAY RIGHTS BILL SOARS
- -- QW, November 29, 1992, page 60
-
- Sponsorship of the federal lesbian and gay civil rights bill promises
- to go up as a result of the election, according to figures from the
- Human Rights Campaign Fund, the nation's largest gay organization.
- Despite losing five co-sponsors, including Rep. Bill Green (R-NY), the
- election brings a net gain of 14 sponsors to the landmark bill,
- raising the tally to 21 members of the Senate and 119 members of the
- House. As currently crafted, the bill, which is expected to be
- introduced next year, extends the 1964 Civil Right Act covering
- employment and public accomodations to include sexual orientation.

- Does anyone know if _QW_ is still alive?
