  39. I wish I had said it so clearly.

  41. But I do have a quibble.  The tewnty percent mark is a guess because the
  42. reported cases of women-child abuse have been historically few.  Only
  43. (I think) in 1990 did it start coming to public notice that women
  44. could be involved.  To most authorities the idea was almost impossible
  45. to formulate because of the so-called maternal instinct.  There is also
  46. the strongly held belief that women only abuse when dominated by men,
  47. the moors murderers being typical examples.

  49. So, I would find it nearly impossible to include figures for woman-child
  50. abuse in the figures because they are the great unknown.

  53. If anyone has real figures on the issue (and sources) I would be glad to
  54. hear them.
