  12. sexual interest in young males, even those over the age of
  13. 18, is driven by the same motivation as pedophilia.

  17. Young men, even though they are legally of age, are still
  18. prone to the social and sexual manipulation by older men.
  19. The argument most commonly given for the prohibition against
  20. sex with young people is that they make an uninformed decision
  21. and are without power and thus are abused by the older
  22. partner.

  24. Assuming the proponents of intergenerational sex are right
  25. (e.g. NAMBLA):

  27. The community of self-proclaimed pedophiles long ago stripped
  28. the pre-adolescent connotations from the word pedophile. It
  29. has long been used to used to describe sexual interest in 
  30. young men (capping off,roughly, at around age 22). According
  31. to Dr. John Money a better term for this interest would be
  32. EPHEBIPHILIA.

  34. In our culture adulthood is not *really* respected untill
  35. there is significant self-sufficiency. The drive toward
  36. toung men is many fold, not just sexual. The term 
  37. "pedogogical eros", for example, describes the non-sexual
  38. but erotic relationship between between a teacher and student.
