- These exchanges *ALWAYS* degenerate, but I feel like I should pipe up whenever
- NAMBLA is discussed. Let me say that I am not now, nor do I ever anticipate
- being associated with them in any way. With that out of the way.
-
- Kelly, you made yourself pretty clear at the outset, and I dispute your basic
- premise: that there are people "in control of their faculties" and there are
- those who are not. Let's shift this argument to ANY other activity -- eating,
- sleeping, drinking, talking, thinking -- and your approach comes apart.
-
- I assert that is because the subtext here is, "sex is bad, unclean and
- unnatural". I don't accept that. I don't accept that sexual activity or
- relations in and of themselves are damaging or detrimental. The damage
- does not occur until society interferes or a power struggle ensues. In
- either case, the sex act did not cause the damage -- what came after did.
-
- THIS can be seen both ways -- if an adult and a child have a power
- struggle around eating, chances are very good the child will grow up with
- some neuroses related to eating. If there is no power struggle and the
- child simply experiments or experiences food without the psychoemotional
- drama, they avoid the neurosis-creating anxieties.
-
- Also, try reversing the emphasis of your statement ("...a thirty year old
- being fucked by a child?") and see how silly it seems. Surely you're not
- going to say that no child ever wanted to fuck at thirty-year-old... I can
- produce several people who did/do/have.
-
- As this heats up, we might all consider moving to email... although now that
- I've made my position clear I don't expect to say much more.
