- I'd also be interested in any Spokane info. It was my hometown until
- I went away to college and discovered Portland. I visit the folks
- several times a year, but I can't imagine having a gay life there.
-
- Back in high school, when my gaydar was just coming on-line, I latched onto
- all rumors of gay life in Spokane that I heard. There wasn't much to go on:
- a friend snickered about the "Swish Alps", an area in the South Hills that
- supposedly had a high concentration of gays, and a cousin onced talked
- disparagingly about a gay bar in the Sheraton Hotel at Riverfront Park.
- I doubt if much has changed. The gay community probably stays pretty well
- hidden. Let me know if I'm wrong, it would be a good thing to hear.
-
- I was planning to drive home to Spokane for Christmas, but my Mom says they've
- received more snow than they've had in over twenty years and the roads
- are treacherous. In her best 'mom' voice she says, "I don't need anymore
- grey hair worring about you. Stay in Portland where it's safe." So for
- the first time in my 28 years, I won't be home for Christmas. *sob, sniff*
- Of course it's my own damn fault for not reserving a plane ticket soon enough.
