  17. Several days ago, Mara asked for other lesbians' reactions
  18. to Greg's response to Tracey.  This may be late, but it's here.

  21. It seems like those who know Greg, either personally or
  22. through reading soc.motss for a while, took his response
  23. as genuine interest in something exclusively lesbian,
  24. that being "lesbian backrooms" and not "backrooms" in 
  25. general.  I get the sense that Greg has frequented  many
  26. a backroom and was wondering how Tracey's experience or
  27. any lesbian's experience in a backroom "for lesbians" 
  28. differed from the experiences he has had in backrooms
  29. he has frequented.  Not in "equiptment" or specific acts, but
  30. moreso a wondering on etiquette, form and atmosphere.
  31. ...those "unspoken" rules that give shape to a backroom or
  32. even a newsgroup.

  34. Am I wrong, Tracey, or are you a relative new-comer
  35. to motss?  I won't even try to speak for Tracey or her
  36. unnamed "lesbians in agreement" and what their motss
  37. history is, but I would venture a guess that they don't
  38. have a feel for Greg yet, and responded as if Greg were
  39. one of the numerous email idiots that get off responding
  40. to posts by wimmin with lewd, inane comments, questions
  41. and propositions.

  43. How do you describe how to separate innuendo from content
  44. and tone, so that old-timers/those who understand the
  45. etiquette of motss are served without having to explicitly
  46. say "to you newbies, when Greg says this it means "<...>"
  47. whereas if you were to say this, you'd get flamed crisp
  48. because your feelings on this subject aren't as well-
  49. known"??

  51. It's a natural progression of whatever "...ships" email
  52. builds between people that given the same sequence of 
  53. words coming from varied peoples' keyboards, the meanings
  54. would _NOT_ be interpretted similarly in all cases.  If
  55. you read some of Melmud's postings and suspend reality
  56. [this is difficult but try hard, I know you can do it]
  57. long enough to fool yourself as to who the author is,
  58. you might hear something different once or maybe twice.
  59. But he is such bedsore that his words become slanted by
  60. previous opinions he has expressed here in the past.
  61. I saw The Fly recently and wished it would regurg in
  62. Melmaggot's direction ... I even offered to tend to
  63. Geena Davis but it wasn't to be, I s'pose.

  65. I'm sure we all have erupted unfairly in an innocent's
  66. direction.  Tracey apologized.  Greg is a wise man who
  67. has been rather sympathetic to human error in the past,
  68. and has a robust sense of humor[are you still wearing that
  69. Italian horn as a necklace, Greg? 8-)].  The only casualty
  70. here seems to be Steve Dyer.  How'd _that_ happen?  8-)
