  12. Several 'womens groups' have been reported in the media as
  13. expressing outrage at the media reports of systematized rape camps
  14. in Bosnia, and are demanding military intervention in Bosnia to
  15. bring and end to the practice.
  16. As has already been pointed out in several postings, the reports
  17. are similar to the stories that were circulated in 1914, during the
  18. German invasion of Belgium about nuns being raped and babies
  19. bayonetted by 'the Boche', that were used to stir up war sentiment
  20. and encourage young men to volunteer for military service, stories
  21. that were later found to be fictitious.
  22. It is likely, judging from the lack of confirming evidence and from
  23. the opinions of aid workers in Bosnia that the reports are greatly
  24. exaggerated, that the stories have been made up in order to stir up
  25. sympathy for a Balkan war. Recently the Bosnian government accused
  26. General Lewis MacKenzie, the Canadian former commander of the UN
  27. peace keeping forces, of raping and killing four Bosnian girls.
  28. This is the sort of nonsense that is coming out of that part of the
  29. world.
  30. However, even if there were some truth to the allegations, what
  31. seems to be happening is that the feminists are prepared to
  32. sacrifice the lives of young American men in order to protect the
  33. virtue of women. This seems to me to be a major step backward.
  34. What will we see next - feminists in the street handing out white
  35. feathers to young men to shame them into going to war to defend
  36. womankind from the Boche?
