- I've always thought of these things (since I'm not much mathematical)
- as geometry - three people is a triangle, where each edge and the
- whole surface is a particular relationship. You can add a line through
- the centroid to the other edge that describes the specific 'this person
- with that couple' relationship if you want.

- Even more fun is to consider a quad as a tetrahedron, and watch your
- brain melt.

- Then there's the argument about how much it helps if the triangle is
- equilateral, or if isoceles triangles are inherently unstable,
- wether 'very married' couples should be represented (in larger
- complexes of relationships) as points, and how to colour code things
- to describe the nature of the relationships. (varying from languished
- lute playing to utter carnality, I suppose.)
