  22. Well, I meant the riposite as a general factment of state.  It's worth
  23. re-emphasizing that this is one Englishman (albeit one of a confused
  24. bloodline) who tries *very*hard* not to react like "the English", just
  25. like he avoids "most men's" behaviour.  In a sudden flash of
  26. seriousness, I'd say that I'm going to California at least in part as
  27. another affirmation and exploration of my repudiation of my heritage.
  28. In other words, I'm going to let my hair down :-)

  30. Has this any relevance here?  Well, for me, yes.  I won't suggest that
  31. you have to be a cultural rebel to be bi (cf the delightfully dotty
  32. Nick, or the repulsively republican Log Cabin Club), but I will say that
  33. I would never have stepped over the line without going through the
  34. complete cultural re-evaluation I'm still working on.
