- In article <Bzn32w.Cr2@world.std.com> wij@world.std.com (William I Johnston) writes:
- :I am writing a book about the social and psychological issues
- :that face gay and bisexual men who learn that they are HIV-negative.

-
- I don't know whether you read the entire article, or were just
- reacting to the introduction that you quoted...
-
- No, I don't think it is silly, and I think it is counter-productive to
- call it that (not that I'm telling you what to do. ;-)
-
- First of all, everyone has their own issues to deal with, and has to
- decide where to put their energies. Although I have the right to
- suggest that others consider whether their current choice of where to
- put their energies is the best one for them, I don't have the right to
- make that choice for them. Only they do. If they want to study the
- effect of silly putty on AIDS prevention, that's their choice. I
- don't have to devote my energies to it, because only I have the right
- to decide on that.
-
- In addition, I think this research is important in understanding how
- to help people avoid contracting HIV. In that sense, this may be a
- very important study.
