  21. Claims are made by the pro-helmet posters that bicycling is a VERY 
  22. DANGEROUS activity.  Which in my experience, (aside from crossing
  23. railroad tracks ;-) ), it isn't.  But I observe a couple of groups that 
  24. go out of their way to indulge in what I see as additional risks.
  25. So I conclude that the dangers come from the different activities
  26. these people indulge in.  And because of these activites, I'm going to
  27. be inconvenienced by wearing a helmet or be the target of police 
  28. "interest".
