- You know, Mark, I think I remember that you are a cyclist. I wonder
- at the tone of yoru article. By referring to "them" as adreneline
- junkies and toads, do you not set up an "us" and "them" situation?
- I don't think you mean anything insulting but remember that you
- could be on the bottom end of a "looking down" for just being
- a sunday Cruiser who is in the way of that adreneline junkie
- one Sunday afternoon.
-
- I'm not flaming you -- just pointing out that it does go both ways.
- Sure, you may not be into BMX (and therefore are not a toad) or
- into road racing (and are not an adreneline junkie who dresses
- up like you are from another planet), but keep in mind that it is
- all relative. There will always be those farther out there than
- you just as you are farther out there than someone you would consider
- a rank beginner who wobbles all over the trail in front of you, interfering
- with your sunday ride.
-
- You don't usually talk about others that way (at least in my recollection)
- and I just wondered why it was necessary to define others as you did.
-
-
- :But I'm up for the same degree of police harrasment.
-
- On that I agree with you 100%. But what supposes the others are more
- deserving of police harassment? I'm not trying to read into your post,
- but it sure reads that way.
-
- That's the point.
