- Is there a difference between virtual and artificial reality? I have
- been under the impression that they are one and the same, with
- 'virtual' being the usual term. However, I have a professor who
- insists otherwise. Does anyone have a good reference, or just opinion
- on the matter?

- The difference is in the mind of the person using the term. Some
- credit Myron Krueger with coining the term Artificial Reality, and
- some credit Jaron Lanier with Virtual Reality. You can ask either of
- them for THIER definitions, but I'd say that if your prof INSISTS that
- there IS a difference, you look to find an educator who's more open
- minded! (g).
