  18.                             GALILEO STATUS REPORT
  19.                               December 29, 1992

  21.      The Galileo Spacecraft is operating normally in the all-spin mode and
  22. is transmitting coded telemetry at 1200 bps (bits/second).
  23.  
  24.      Yesterday, the HGA (High Gain Antenna) warming turn to an attidue of 45
  25. degree off Sun angle was performed in preparation for the DDA-5 (Dual Drive
  26. Actuator #5) windup/hammering activities.  Real-time commands were sent
  27. to update the system fault protection response and to modify attitude control
  28. fault protection presistence level in support of the motor acuation activity.
  29. Tracking was scheduled over DSS-43 (Canberr 70 meter antenna) and DSS-63
  30. (Madrid 70 meter antenna).

  32.      Today, December 29, 1992, after approxiamately 20 hours at warming
  33. attitude, real-time commands for motor windup/hammering activities are being
  34. sent to begin at approxiamately 6:56 AM PST for a period of up to 20 hours.
  35. Tracking is scheduled over DSS-14 (Goldstone 70 meter antenna), DSS-43 and
  36. DSS-63.

  38.      Tomorrow, the sun acquistion back from warming attitude is scheduled
  39. to begin at 2:48 PST.  The star scanner checkout and real-time commands to
  40. reacquire celestial reference are scheduled.  Also, real-time commands are to
  41. be sent to reconfigure the spacecraft.  Tracking is scheduled over DSS-14,
  42. DSS-43 and DSS-63.
