- Based on my experience, that's absolutely true. Based on some
- conversations with trial lawyers, they admit that it's _probably_ a
- valid position.

- I've been on many jury selection panels, and have always been eliminated
- by a peremptory challenge immediately after stating my occupation or
- employer. (For many years, I was employed by a large private
- university.)

- Even more probable is your elimination from a jury if you have any
- technical expertise or experience in the subject area of the trial.
- Some attorneys suggest that you'd have a bias based on your prior
- experience and would not judge solely on the evidence.

- All in all, ignorance and stupidity seem to be positive traits for jury
- selection. <sigh!>
