- In my experience, the overtly Christians are generally there to gloat
- about how that wouldn't have happened if the victim had just been a good
- Christian. Or they are contributing to the human suffering. (Hang around
- Planned Parenthood during a protest, for instance. No matter what side
- you take on this issue, you have to agree that the protesters make a bad
- situation worse for the women).
-
- Some of the people who _do_ offer aid and comfort are Christian, but they
- tend to be quiet about it. That is, they'll tell you if you ask or they
- might perform a quiet religious service, but they don't ram the fact the
- they are Christians Performing Good Deeds down your throat.
-
- BTW, not everybody who volunteers for "Christian" relief organizations
- is necessarily a Christian. Habitat for Humanity is a good example --
- it was founded by Christians and generally has a brief Christian service,
- but (I think) they don't require volunteers to be Christian.
