  15. I have listened to many of Chuck Missler's tapes and the stuff
  16. you've described certainly sounds like his style. He gets a bit
  17. excited about scientific findings because that's his field but
  18. other than that, he does his homework. When presenting an
  19. exposition of a passage, he'll read tens of commentaries on it 
  20. first himself, then he'll pick out interesting things said. He's
  21. been doing this for 20 years or so and his tapes are distributed
  22. freely by Fire Fighters for Christ (along with tapes by
  23. Josh McDowell , Chuck Smith, Chuck Swindoll, etc - a lot of Chucks!)

  25. Regarding the message of Ge 49.10, I don't know enough Hebrew but
  26. for those that do but don't have a TaNaKH handy, the first letter
  27. of each word are:
  28.     lamed
  29.     yod
  30.     shin
  31.     mem
  32.     vav
  33.     mem
  34.     resh
  35.     ayin
  36.     kaf
  37.     yod
  38.     shin
  39.     vav
  40.     yod
  41.     ayin
  42. Shepherd is there as is Yeshua with an extra yod. Appropriate verse
  43. as well, don't you think?

  45. Chuck Missler does read from the KJV but he insists it is only because
  46. it's what he knows. He reads from other translations occasionally and
  47. actually says he has no preference on one of my tapes. I personally
  48. have problems with the NIV and changed to NASB after disagreeing with
  49. so many of the NIV translation decisions.

  51. I have found Chuck to be a most helpful teacher. He does go on
  52. a bit about astronomy and warfare but where he does concentrate
  53. on the fundamentals of life in Christ, he is mature and insightful. It's
  54. straight down the line, conservative Christianity.
