- The passage (Mark 6:3) is as follows:

- And they were offended at him.

- Obviously this was said by _opponents_ of Jesus' claims. This was in his
- home town, and naturally there would have been some scandal just from the
- fact that Mary was pregnant before her marriage. Neither the opposition
- nor the scandal tell us anything about his real parentage.
