  15. Are you all aware of what Penrose thinks in Emperor's New Mind?
  16. I conjecture that mathematical forms are actually intelligent and create
  17. themselves using the quantum connection backward in time violating David
  18. Deutsch's basic principle of the philosophy of science. You know the
  19. mathematician has a precognition of his discovery that pops into her
  20. consciousness - prior training is needed to recognize the significance of
  21. the message from the future etc.

  23. What we have learned is that a formal model of this can be made but it
  24. involves a minimal generalization of present day standard quantum mechanics
  25. to allow a non-fatal kind of non-unitarity in the time evolution that still
  26. conserves probabilities. This is analogous to the non-fatal globally self
  27. consistent causality violation that time machine traversable wormholes
  28. permit according to Kip Thorne et-al.

  30. This model of mathematical creation as precognition is actually consistent
  31. with Penrose's phenomenology in Emperor's New Mind. The world of Platonic
  32. Forms are, in this model, intelligent programs that form the Mind of God and
  33. that communicate backwards in time to our minds.
