- The way to make a glass surface ROUGH is to grind it with
- emery powder. Works like a charm. Use water as a lubricant
- and to prevent fracture from heat generated during grinding.

- Oh, you should also have some sort of lap that mates the
- glass surface to be ground more or less accurately.
