- Yes the same was true of the subs carrying Polaris and Poseidon ballistic
- missiles. Which is also why the confusion over the Ohio class and a Trident
- missile sub.

- If memory serves me right, all of the Polaris-carrying subs were upgraded to
- the Poseidon missiles (at least an early version). Due to the size of the
- Trident missiles, no backfits of the older ballistic missile subs was possible.
