  49. Yes the same was true of the subs carrying Polaris and Poseidon ballistic 
  50. missiles.  Which is also why the confusion over the Ohio class and a Trident
  51. missile sub.

  53. If memory serves me right, all of the Polaris-carrying subs were upgraded to
  54. the Poseidon missiles (at least an early version).  Due to the size of the
  55. Trident missiles, no backfits of the older ballistic missile subs was possible.
