- 10 tons is about the weight increase from a M1 to a M1A2, around 16%.
- Remove the regular turret and main gun from one tank per troop and
- equip it as a Phalanx defense system. Phalanx is supposed to be
- capable of dealing with aircraft, missiles, and ship artillery
- rounds. About the only thing too fast for it would be MBT APDS.
