  15. this old orphan proves more usefull than the current results of millions
  16. of dollars in pharmacuetical research.  It would certainly have uses other
  17. than HIV treatment if it works.  Are there any clinical trials underway?
  18.         Concerning the news in the CDC journal about Marinol, I am curious
  19. about the legal status of this compound.  Is THC still a schedule I
  20. substance?  How does the FDA and the DEA permit it's use?  Do they use
  21. the investigational drug exemption, or the compassionate use rule(?)
  22. or what?  It used to be that any FDA approved drug could be used for
  23. any purpose an MD sees fit.  Is there some sort of conditional or limited
  24. approval ?  An email response would be fine if posting is not appropriate.
