  11. A friend has reached menopause and has begun estrogen replacement 
  12. therapy.  She currently takes Estrace, 1mg/day.  The first 12 days of the
  13. month her physcian has her put Proges cream on her feet.  She also is told
  14. to put apply Provera to better "challenge" the uterus.

  16. Question:  Would there be less cancer risk to just switch from Proges 
  17. cream to Provera?  Her mother had uterine cancer.  
  18.  
  19. She originally tried to use the Estraderm Estradiol patch but had the
  20. side effect of painful leg swelling.  The doctor took her off this
  21. and put her on this lower dose pill form.  Any comments from someone
  22. who's heard of this kind of side effect from ERT?
