- His book is _Darkness Visible: A Memoir of Madness_ (Random House
- 1990). I would take his suspicion about Halcion seriously; treating
- insomnia secondary to depression with benzodiazepines is not such a
- great idea. Alcohol probably contributed to his problem also.
- Darkness Visible is a great book, although I thought Styron was hard on
- the drugs (it was not clear to my reading that he got an adequate trial
- of any antidepressant).
