- BCG has generally seemed to be less effective in trials in North America
- than in other parts of the world. It is not clear (at least to me)
- whether this has to do with varying strains of Tb or simply with
- the lower prevalence of Tb in NA. I believe there have been U.S.
- trials of BCG showing no benefit as compared to placebo, but I have
- no idea what the power of those studies was.
