  12. Hello out there in math land.  I have only a grade 9 formal education
  13. (20yrs ago).  I am a professional seafarer and and as such must return
  14. to Nautical College every 3year on average to climb up the next step
  15. in an officers certification ladder.  I am presently at school in 
  16. Victoria B.C. doing courses which involve amonst other stuff , some
  17. fairly complex(to me) mathematics, spherical trig and such like.
  18. I can usually figure out most of the stuff I come across but there is
  19. one area that I have consistent problems with and that is transformation
  20. of formulae, getting the unknown by itself.  I do not have the time
  21. to upgrade my math skills at this point in my life and I am looking
  22. for advice on a GOOD book or hopefully a shareware program that will
  23. help me master that specific area... any suggestions???
  24. my apologies if this is the wrong area for this kind of low-level
  25. inquiry... you folks might be unraveling the secrets of the unknown and
  26. have no time for such stuff anyways...cheers and thanx
