- Merry Christmas, everyone.
-
- Recentlly, i have come upon an expression x^{t}R^{-1}x in
- which x is a n*n matrix and R is a rank 4 tensor, ir R = R_{ijkl}.
- All the indecies are descrete. Could someone point me at a reference
- for handling the inversion, determinant, and product for such a
- group of objects? In particular, inverting R_{ijkl} appears to
- be non-trivial, in that i can not even find a discussion of the problem.
-
- Thank you for your help,
- Christopher Fortin
