  12. I'd like to create a 256 color map for Fractint 17.2 which very closely
  13. represents the visible spectrum (~0.38 to 0.71 microns) - one could call it
  14. a rainbow.  What I plan to do is to divide the wavelength range of visible
  15. light into 255 discrete points (may not be evenly spaced), and then determine
  16. the color mapping parameters for each particular wavelength.

  18. The question:  how do I convert a particular wavelength in the visible range
  19. to the three RGB .map parameters for use by Fractint?

  21. Of course, if somebody's already done this, then I'd like to get the map, but
  22. I'd like to know how to do it anywhoze.
