- PHILADELPHIA (UPI) -- Philadelphia Electric Co. said Monday its
- customers will see their electric bills a little lighter in the new
- year.
- The utility is coming to the end of a rate increase imposed to
- recover the costs of the Limerick 2 nuclear plant and will cut rates 4.6
- percent on New Year's day.
- That should mean the customer using 500 kilowatt-hours of electricity
- will see his bill drop to $70.42 from $73.87.
- PE Chairman Joseph Paquette Jr. said a 2 percent rate decrease is
- expected in April 1993, because of energy cost rate adjustments
- reflecting the use of more efficient nuclear fuel.
- He said that will bring PE's total rate reduction over a 12-month
- period to 10 percent.
