  18. and industrial energy use. Four recent issues provide important
  19. directories: November, 1992 contains a product guide of
  20. chiller-heaters; October, 1992 contains a list of firms which
  21. recycle spent fluorescent bulbs; April, 1992 contains a directory
  22. of Demand-Side Management rebates offered by utilities across the
  23. country; and February, 1992 contains a product guide for

  27. The Electric Ideas Clearinghouse, a program of the Bonneville
  28. Power Administration, offers a hotline to provide fast, free
  29. information on commercial and industrial energy efficient
  30. technologies, products and programs. They also have an electronic
  31. bulletin board service with software libraries, training
  32. calendar, referrals directory and discussion groups. Priority is
  33. given to energy professionals in the Bonneville Power service
  34. area (Washington, Oregon, Montana and Idaho). Within this area,

  37. The American Gas Cooling Center's (AGCC) new Natural Gas Cooling
  38. Equipment Guide ($30 for members, $50 for non-members) introduces
  39. three basic types of gas cooling equipment - absorption,
  40. engine-driven and desiccant - and presents brief descriptions of
  41. equipment that is commercially available today. Also included are
  42. short descriptions of systems under development. The guide
  43. provides information necessary to identify options and evaluate
  44. their feasibility for specific applications. A manufacturer
  45. contact for each gas cooling system is also identified. The AGCC
  46. is a gas industry organization that directly supports technology
  47. transfer and commercialization of advanced gas cooling equipment
  48. to create a greater role for natural gas in the American energy

  52. The Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), founded in 1972,
  53. manages technical research and development programs for the U.S.
  54. electric utility industry to improve power production,
  55. distribution and use. Some 700 utilities are members of the
  56. institute. EPRI operates a customer assistance center, which
