- Those older remotes were (if you're thinking of the same thing I am) for
- varactor-tuned cable boxes. The buttons simply select from one of 'n'
- voltage dividers and the varactors in the box act accordingly. Probably
- not a good answer for this problem.

- Someone else has already mentioned that you could probably hack up a remote
- and "press its buttons" from a sequencer circuit of your own design.

- Another idea is to get one of the universal remotes (such as Memorex CP8;
- a version is still sold by Radio Shack, I believe) which can memorize
- sequences of keystrokes which can then be activated by a single button (or
- maybe two).
