- Hi all... Happy Holidays to all -- hope there wasn't too much arguing
- with the 'ole relatives :-U)...
-
- I'm wondering how to go about converting two "old" fluorescent light
- fixtures (the type where you have to hold in the button for a few
- seconds to warm up the bulb, then release it to light the sucker) to the
- "new" style of light where just "flipping" the switch turns it on...
-
- Can I just rip out the guts from the old lights and wire in an
- electronic balast (and replace the tube with a quick start one as
- well)... or do I have to go and deal with something else?
-
- In case you're wondering this is for my fish tanks... I've got two of
- them, both with old style lights on them, and want to convert them to
- the new style so that the automatic timers on them will be able to turn
- the lights on for the fishies when I oversleep *grin*... (right now, all
- the timers do is turn the lights off and put them to sleep every
- night...)...
-
- Thanks!
