  10. Hi all... Happy Holidays to all -- hope there wasn't too much arguing
  11. with the 'ole relatives :-U)...

  13. I'm wondering how to go about converting two "old" fluorescent light
  14. fixtures (the type where you have to hold in the button for a few
  15. seconds to warm up the bulb, then release it to light the sucker) to the
  16. "new" style of light where just "flipping" the switch turns it on...
  17.  
  18. Can I just rip out the guts from the old lights and wire in an
  19. electronic balast (and replace the tube with a quick start one as
  20. well)... or do I have to go and deal with something else?

  22. In case you're wondering this is for my fish tanks... I've got two of
  23. them, both with old style lights on them, and want to convert them to
  24. the new style so that the automatic timers on them will be able to turn
  25. the lights on for the fishies when I oversleep *grin*... (right now, all
  26. the timers do is turn the lights off and put them to sleep every
  27. night...)...
